The Cover Burger steals the spotlight with its thick, juicy patty and perfect seasoning; it's no wonder it's voted one of the best burgers in Texas. Guests rave about the crispy onion rings and comforting frings, a delightful mix of fries and onion rings that satisfies every craving.
Many diners highlight the funky vibe with outdoor games like cornhole and horseshoes, making waiting for your table a fun experience. The live music enhances the laid-back atmosphere, creating an inviting scene perfect for a relaxed evening. Another fan favorite is the buttermilk pie; it’s not just a dessert, it’s a sweet memory that has patrons coming back for more.
Most Disliked
Some guests mention that the café can get quite busy during peak hours, especially on weekends. The wait for a table can stretch longer than expected, so timing your visit is key. Peak dinner hours on Saturdays see 100% capacity, which can lead to a bit of a lively chaos.
While most love the casual vibe, some diners desire a bit more ambiance or quieter dinner settings. Additionally, although the servings are generous, a few patrons have suggested more innovative side dish options. Overall, the vibrant atmosphere may overwhelm some seeking a more intimate dining experience.

This is a laid back setting and is fun and relaxing atmosphere. The burgers are super, thick and juicy with just right seasoning. The fries and onion rings were crispy and fresh. The queso was tasty with just right pepper heat. We topped it off with a fabulous German chocolate cake. When we are in Fredericksburg, we make it a point to visit Alamo Springs for a burger. It's near Grapetown and just past Old Tunnel State Park. Well worth the drive.

This is definitely a polished gem that went into hiding during the COVID years. I’m thankful to say that it’s back in the hands of the original owners and they have definitely kicked it up a notch. The food is awesome! For starters we had the goat cheese the roasted garlic and Texas goat cheese with crostini’s. It was perfect. And a little of honey over the cheese for a next level taste sensation! Then I had the Cover Burger which was voted one of the best burgers in that state. It did not disappoint. Thick and juicy and perfectly done. The ambiance was like an old Texas road house, which is my kinda place. Throw in live music (which they do) and you have the perfect laid back evening get away.

First time here! I'll for sure be back! Kevin was out server, he was super fun, personable and knew the menu inside out! He recommended upgrading the bun I can't remember the name, but it was this amazing jalapeno, cheddar bun with a hint of sweet! Literally takes your burger to a whole new level of yum! 🤤 Highly recommended! The atmosphere is comforting and fun. Feels like going to your best friend's place for a get together. There's complimentary games outside like Cornhole and horseshoes while u wait or eat and play! Any way 10/01

Great burger. Had the frings also, 1/2 onion rings and 1/2 fries, for those of you who didn't know what that was. Also, German Chocolate cake to finish the meal. We went mid afternoon to avoid the lunchtime rush and the service was great. I would recommend this place to anyone. Great job, keep it up!

Best burger in TX and I’ve had plenty from all over. Get The Cover burger. Pricey but you didn’t drive out here to do things halfway. Onion rings were good and fries ok but burger is out of this world. Service is super friendly. I’ve been four times over the last 8 years and it has never disappointed.

This is truly a hidden gem in the Texas Hill Country! The environment has the feel of a comfy country kitchen, lots of outside seating and it feel like you were in your friends backyard. The burger… OMG…. The burger!!! It was fantastic. Big juicy patty and the jalapeño bun, just fantastic. And Kevin was the greatest server. He was very helpful and provided great suggestions.
